Our doctor wants my daughter to look at pumps. Now that she has had
to do shots before breakfast, lunch, and dinner she has decided she
might like the idea. However, they said the meds are causing her
levels to be high, so would it be better to wait to see if she can go
back to one shot a day? It could be the meds, she is also sick, or
her honeymoon stage is ending — or combo, right? She liked the
omnipod — wwww.omnipod.com, but we can’t get it in our area yet.
She liked how it worked by remote. Any suggestions?

Hello again! We have instructions to call the doctor if levels are
above 300 with keytones. However, are there guidlines about how high
levels are with neg. keytones? We spent Thursday and Friday in the
ER - to make a long story short, my daughter had hives from head to
toe. She also had swollen and sore joints. It was determined that
she had an acute allergic reaction. We have not changed anything
except Insulin from Lantus to Novalog & Levimir. She is not taking
steroids anymore (for the reaction) and her levels are now 375. They
do not believe the insulin has caused this. They wanted us to stop
all supplements and meds except for her insulin. She was sent home
again today because hives started popping up — nothing like Fri.
though. She is type I.

I’m a type 1 for 21 years. I have seen 30’s on several different meters
over the years. You will not always break into a sweat or these types of
reactions. I have seen breaking into a sweat at 80 blood sugar.(rarely)
Robert’s numbers are attainable. The first 10 years of my diabetes I was
low like him. I did see 200’s on occasion, 300’s as well, a rare 400, and
even a couple 500’s over 21 years. Obviously these numbers are extremes,
but come from eating things which are out of the ballpark, or neglecting to
take insulin on a rare occasion. Also for testing post eating rather than
always prior only twice per day.
What happened to the gist of this list: Curing Diabetes?
If you want a conventional list on how to manage diabetes using novolog and
lantus, there are plenty of places for this. This site was meant to be for
people interested in curing their own diabetes using the gamut of approaches

Hello. I am a researcher at the University of Oklahoma who is
conducting research on Internet support groups. Our research team is
interested in understanding how people communicate in on-line support
groups, and we are seeking participants for an on-line survey. Despite
the growth and popularity of these groups, there are relatively few
studies of them and their perceived usefulness. The survey should take
about 10-15 minutes to complete, and your responses will be
confidential. You must be at least 18 years old to participate.
If you are willing to participate in the survey, you can access it at
the following link:
After the completion of the study, the researchers are willing to share
the results of the study in aggregate form upon request.

Hi again. A ND in our area suggested that I give Jenessa Pro-
pancreas formula (juniper berries, slippery elm bark, licorice root,
rose hips fruit, garlic bulb, yarrow aerial parts, capsicum fruit,
golden seal root extract, uva ursi leaf, dandelion root, marshmallow
root, nettle leaves, mullein leaf, and white oak stem inner bark)-
for supporting proper pancreas function, chromuim-gtf, glyco
essentials(source of 8essential sugars that may help improve
cellular communication, and prebiotic firber base), and a multi
vitamin. They are made by the brand Natures Sunshine Does anyone
use these/heard of these?
We did start with a new doctor. She changed her from Lantus (11
untits 1x a day to Levemir - 10 units a day & Novalog by 1/2 units
one time a day on a sliding scale ( a junior pen by 1/2 because she
is still needing only a small amount). She thought it was

Hello everyone…
I just wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself and say
hello. My name is Alaine and I am a 56 year old woman from Long
Island, NY. I just recently took a 2 hour fasting glucose test and
it came back as
glucose fasting 127

the Doctor said I have diabetes and advised an appointment with an
Endo.. I went to a new Endo last week and they gave me a tester and
told me to test before breakfast and before dinner.. the readings
have been all over the place.. one day around 135-140 both times and
the next day around 120 both times.. The Doctor really didnt say much
about it except losing weight would help and I have really no clue
about this disease since no one in my family that I know of has had

I’m posting this for people who might be having problems controling
their blood sugars with the conventional methods given by their doctors.
In the first 10 years of my type 1 diabetes, I rarely had a high blood
sugar reading. This was not because I followed a careful diet. I did
not, I ate pretty much anything I wanted within reason. The reason I
was able to do this was INTENSIVE exercise.
I was an avid work-out guy. I lifted weights 4-6 times per week, and
I would usually end with 20-40 minutes of aerobic exercise such as
cycling or running on a treadmill or stair climbing. The rest of the
workout was weightlifting. Lots of weight, hard workout, lots of
sweat, etc. The result from this was I could eating anything, drink
anything, etc. High blood sugar was not a problem, low blood sugar
was at times. I was always chasing low blood sugar with some fruit, or

I met 1 and heard of a few other Type I (juvenile) diabetics who got off
insulin by maintaining a RAW FOODS diet
(www.startthehealing.com/Q_diabetes.html).
Gerson.org (mostly raw vegetables & fresh vegetable juice) claims that a
small portion of their type 1 diabetics get off insulin.
"Treating Diabetes With Enzymes" by William Wong, ND, PhD (excerpts)
"86-year-old…Type 1 Diabetes for over 50 years…DVP…leg about to be
amputated…kidneys…laden with scar tissue…highly insulin
dependent….functionally blind in one eye from a Lasix procedure that had
generated scar tissue…
After several weeks of systemic enzyme (Vitalzym) use…lessening
in…neuropathy….skin colour…became pink with blood flow, no longer

is type 1 and it does not run in our family. She has also
tested positive for thyroid disease — Is it common to have other
autoimune disorders along with diabetes?
What about the information on taking niacinamide with green tea
extract. They claimed that 3 out of 7 reversed (eliminated dairy as
well). It was also in the book by the authors that wrote Natural
Cures for Cancer.
Does Canada have any more information? I know that my youngest
daughter would not be walking today if it wasn’t for Canadian doctors
when the NIH told us our youngest would never sit up let alone walk.
She has Osteogenesis Imperfecta III (brittle bones/born with 16
fractures). Anyway, we traveled to Canada every 6 to 8 weeks for two
years before our FDA would approve her meds in the states.
