<description>Seems a bit of a leap to Charcot's Arthropothy from a broken bone - do you have other problems with your feet - Charcot's is a rather severe form of this condition - I would have thought you would have been aware of some of the other problems - loss of sensation etc - well before this.
You say you are 'recently diagnosed' - can I ask how recently? Your levels seem to be quite well controlled - what readings were you getting when you were first
diagnosed?
Neuropathy is usually caused by badly controlled diabetes - you would have needed to have had high levels for quite some time for it to have taken effect -
have they not investigated any other causes for your problems - or have they just assumed 'diabetic must be this' attitude that sends you away like a 'good
little boy'? Sorry, getting on my high horse here - but doctor' are notorious for 'blaming' diabetes for anything that goes wrong - make sure they've investigated all the
avenues.
As for whether anyone on here suffers - I think Lilyth does, she might have some advice for you - I have problems sometimes, but my doc is not sure if it is neuropathy or restless leg syndrome - I have my doc trained now!!!! - he investigates everything before telling me 'you're diabetic, learn to live with it'.
Hope you manage to get it sorted, you say you're not allowed to drive at the moment, is there any particular reason for that, neuropathy shouldn't be that bad?
