What kind of doctor do I need?
I have just been approved for Medicare and needto find a Dr. in my area. But there are several different specialties and I don’t know what
would be right for my health problems. I currently see a PA at a free clinic and want to change to a real Dr. I am diabetic and have high blood pressure. Also starting to have problems with my feet and vision.

Any info anyone has would be welcome, also any help with this Medicare mess would be great.
Thanks

If you’re on Medicare, you should be able to go to any doctor that you
want to. For diabetes, you’d want to have a general physician as well
as an endocrinologist. If you’re diabetes isn’t too bad, a general
physician should be alright. If you have complications, you’ll
definitely need an endocrinologist. It also sounds like you might
need a podiatrist to help with the feet problems and you’ll need to
see an eye doctor on a regular basis. If I were you, I’d go to a
general physician first and get his recommendation. Check the phone
book for doctors, and when you call up for an appointment, just be
sure that they take Medicare.
Hope this helps!
