Jenessa - 16 year old/supplements & new DR/meds

Hi again. A ND in our area suggested that I give Jenessa Pro-
pancreas formula (juniper berries, slippery elm bark, licorice root,
rose hips fruit, garlic bulb, yarrow aerial parts, capsicum fruit,
golden seal root extract, uva ursi leaf, dandelion root, marshmallow
root, nettle leaves, mullein leaf, and white oak stem inner bark)-
for supporting proper pancreas function, chromuim-gtf, glyco
essentials(source of 8essential sugars that may help improve
cellular communication, and prebiotic firber base), and a multi
vitamin. They are made by the brand Natures Sunshine Does anyone
use these/heard of these?

We did start with a new doctor. She changed her from Lantus (11
untits 1x a day to Levemir - 10 units a day & Novalog by 1/2 units
one time a day on a sliding scale ( a junior pen by 1/2 because she
is still needing only a small amount). She thought it was

interesting how well my daughter was doing by still producing much
of her own insulin. She commented on variations of type I — I did
not understand her and she had a meeting to go to, so I plan on
asking her to expand on that next visit. She did not have a problem
with her taking supplements. However, convincing Jenessa on that –
another story, but she is doing better. We did have a rough few
days of high glucouse readings: 343, and many high 200’s. They were
not sure if she was fighting off illness or what. Anyway, it seems
like she is off to better numbers from the 80’s - low 100’s. We had
to increase Novalog by adding a 1/2 unit to the sliding scale and
Levemir to 11 units for the past three days. She did not want to
add any more since she still had some lows in the 50 range.

I am ordering the books that many of you mentioned. I hope to get
her to read them too as I am having some trouble getting her to
drink enough water (she had 1,ooo milligrams of sugar in her urine
on Friday) and eliminate the fried foods when her basketball
team gets together. They want to go fast food. She has been doing
better at ordering the salad instead. It is hard for her when all
her friends are eating the junk.

Joyce, I have heard of all the supplements, just not in that combination. Have
you tried a probiotic, and essential fatty acids. I have also tried cinnamin.

essential fatty acids can come from a fish source or flax, it is good for
depression, inflammation, decreasing triglycerides levels, cholestterol, females
need as much good fat in there diets as males, women are 20 times more liikely
to have inflammatory diiseases. Probiotics are friendly bacteria that keep our
    stomach healty and happy
