Re: Jenessa & type 1 diabetes
I met 1 and heard of a few other Type I (juvenile) diabetics who got off
insulin by maintaining a RAW FOODS diet
(www.startthehealing.com/Q_diabetes.html).
Gerson.org (mostly raw vegetables & fresh vegetable juice) claims that a
small portion of their type 1 diabetics get off insulin.
"Treating Diabetes With Enzymes" by William Wong, ND, PhD (excerpts)
"86-year-old…Type 1 Diabetes for over 50 years…DVP…leg about to be
amputated…kidneys…laden with scar tissue…highly insulin
dependent….functionally blind in one eye from a Lasix procedure that had
generated scar tissue…
After several weeks of systemic enzyme (Vitalzym) use…lessening
in…neuropathy….skin colour…became pink with blood flow, no longer
ulcered, no longer had ischemic pain and was saved from amputation. Urine
flow increased as fibrin was lysed (eaten away) from the kidneys….fibrosis
that had blinded one eye was lysed away…better than 20/20
vision….insulin production has returned….NO LONGER INSULIN DEPENDENT.
After medical testing the patient is no longer considered diabetic at all
and is off all medication….
cause of diabetes is inflammation of the pancreas….breeds fibrosis or
scar tissue. Fibrosis is also the culprit in the Peripheral Vascular
Disease…fibrin plugs form…blockages to full blood flow…arterial
plaque….
….most of the Type 1 patients [on systemic enzymes] have a significantly
lower need for insulin while some no longer need the insulin at all…Beta
Cells and the Islets are not destroyed…merely clogged by the fibrosis"

I don’t know anything more re: what’s written above, though I assume the
enzymes need to be taken on an empty stomach, and it’s probably
important to use high-quality enzymes in ample quantities.
Does anyone know how dietary guidelines for type 1 differ from those for
