Question from a new member
Hi and thanks in advance for your help.
My 80 year old dad takes insulin 4 times a day. He has lost his vision
to the point where he cannot see the reading on his blood sugar meter
or see the number of units on the hypodermic he uses. Additionally, he
has pretty sever hand tremors, so self injection his difficult.
I and my sister have been performing these things for him, but are
there tools or techniques that other visually impaired insulin
dependent diabetics use?
Thanks again for any answers.

Dear Mike,
While there are probably several auditory monitors available, there’s the new
Prodigy Talking Meter that measures blood glucose levels and gives instructions
and results aloud using a woman’s voice.
I hope this is helpful!
Warmly,
Linda
