This is the diet I’d follow if I had type 2 diabetes:
lightly-steamed & RAW (above-ground) VEGETABLES (eat skin if organic
[org.])–GREEN BEANS & (Jerusalem) ARTICHOKE, celery; turnip, avocado,
olive, garlic, onion/leek; shiitake, maitake; LEAFY GREENS (seaweed,
non-iceburg lettuce, spinach, parsley, watercress, dandelion, kale, mustard
& turnip greens); steamed cruciferous vegetables (especially BRUSSELS
SPROUTS & cabbage) & asparagus; SPROUTS; org. potato skins
GREEN SALAD (w/flax or olive oil, red-wine vinegar, & lemon juice only)
Nuts– hicory, pine, walnut, coconut, cashew, almond, hazel/filbert,
pistachio
Seeds–especially ground flax, pumpkin, & sprouted seeds
Fruit-org. berries (org. strawberries, cherries [anthocyanins],
blueberries, raspberries, goji); grapefruit, lemon, ripe tomato, cucumber,
plum, green apples, pears, peaches
Beans/Legumes-lentils, lima, peas; SPROUTED beans; TEMPEH
whole Grains–buckwheat, oats & rye; rice bran;Ezekiel/Manna SPROUTED bread
Seafood-Iceland/Pacific/Alaska wild/deep-sea salmon, sardine, herring,
rainbow trout organic/grass-fed/naturally-grown Meat-poultry, game, New
Zealand/Icelandic lamb
organic/omega-3 Eggs (strictly avoid conventional eggs)-particularly egg
yolk
organic/RAW DAIRY-grass-fed milk, cheese, cream, cultured butter, yogurt,
cottage cheese, buttermilk/kefir. 1st check for dairy (& egg) allergy.
cooking Oil-For high-temp. cooking, use only coconut/palm oil, butter or
lard. For low-temp cooking, may use olive oil.
Beverages–purified water (8 glasses); string-bean, herbal & green teas
Sweeteners-Stevia, xylitol, lo-han, or other low-calorie, natural
sweeteners in health food stores

turmeric
Foods to AVOID
Carbohydrates–NEVER eat large amount at single meal. Eat small meals.
High-Carb & High-Glycemic Foods (NEVER eat them on empty stomach).
Grains-RICE (except wild rice), refined grains (dough/flour, pastries,
pasta), nonsprouted BREAD, nonsprouted WHEAT, millet, & corn.
Fruits–dried fruit, dates; bananas, oranges, sweet & tropical fruit
Vegetables-white/red potatoes, parsnips, & other root vegetables
Animal products–farm-raised fish; pork; conventional meat/eggs; nonorganic
dairy
Fats/Oils–HYDROGENATED OIL (e.g., MARGARINE) & Omega 6 polyunsaturated
oils (canola, cottenseed, soy, corn, safflower, sunflower & sesame).
other things to avoid–table salt; MSG, SUGAR, Nutrasweet/Equal/aspartame &
other artificial sweeteners; SODA, coffee, alcohol, beer, JUICE (except
tomato/V8 from glass bottle); chocolate; FRIED, processed, refined, & other
junk foods; iron
