Re: OT– Milk/dairy

There’s much truth in this, and there’s much evidence in support of this.
And statements equivalent to those written above could be said about many
foods (e.g., soy).
And there’s a comparable amount of evidence for position that milk
(particularly if raw and/or cultured) is the healthiest food on the planet
and is a miracle cure for countless numbers of diseases (there have been
reports of recoveries from diabetes from drinking large amounts of raw milk
[Schmid, 2004]). I believe the truth lies in the middle. (The same w/soy.)

Many extremely healthy cultures have consumed (nonpasteurized, often
cultured) dairy for thousands of
years (some using it as a staple food), and raw dairy has profound health
benefits (westonaprice.org).
The following websites discuss the huge health benefits of and arguments in
favor of (raw) milk, though they acknowledge the severe problems with

pasteurized/homogenized noncultured and conventional dairy. They’re very
biased and onesided, as are the websites you listed.

I’ve read extensively on both sides of this issue, and my IMPRESSION is that
raw and cultured organic (ideally grass-fed) dairy products are healthy for
MOST people (who aren’t allergic to it; many people are). For some, it’s
extremely healthy, for many it’s unhealthy. I think it’s best to stay away
from conventional dairy products (and conventional factory-farm cows are
treated horribly), including all pasteurized milk (except perhaps grass-fed,
which incidentally contains CLA, which is very helpful for diabetics).

> not to mentio the 144+ steroids and other chemicals cattle are pumped
full of.

Yes, which is 1 of the many reasons I avoid nonorganic dairy.

  1. John Smith Says:

    Dennis and Leonard,

Raw, unpasturized milk, from organic grass fed cows has definitely
been shown to be very beneficial to people. Patrick Lecky wrote a
book about how he cured his type 2 diabetes by going all raw,
including raw milk and raw meats. (from good sources)

This same course with the typical store bought products would be a big
mistake. High toxic overload to the body. Many people swear by
eating the meat raw. This seems to be the natural way animals do it,
but does this sound very appealing? Rather have a raw apple.
