Leonard,

Almost every instance I have found are people who have gotten onto a
raw foods vegetarian diet.

Dr Christopher sites the same diet with the addition of a herbal
preparation containing cedar berries. (this info is available on the
web.)(Christopher also allows for extremely low heat cooking of whole
grains)

Robert Young outlines an entire protocol in this book "The PH miracle
for diabetes". 33% of his type 1's were off insulin in 90 days, the
rest had decreased insulin consumption by over 80%.

In the book "Raw Family," the Boytenko family goes on an all raw diet
<!--more-->
and their son's type 1 diabetes is cured as well as numerous other
health conditions that the family was suffering from.

David Wolfe's "Sunfood Diet Success System" relates the story of a
type 1 diabetic who went raw vegan and was off insulin in 7 months.

Wolfe referred the lady to Dr Bernarr Zovluck, who helped her. I have
contacted him personally and his approach is 100% raw foods, as much
anaerobic exercise as possible and as much rest, lying down and
closing the eyes as possible. (lying down and watching tv does not
work)(he claims the eyes must be closed) He does not advocate herbs.

Dr Richard Schulze in his book "There are no Incurable Diseases" puts
forth a fantastic program of vegan foods, juices, herbal teas and
tinctures, exercise, laughter, hydrotherapy and other protocols for
healing any disease. For diabetics he recommends cutting the juices
with water to adjust for the sugar content and blood sugar spikes.

On a personal note, I believe rest is one the most important aspects
to curing type 1 diabetes. The vegan, raw food, juicing diet causes
the body to get a lot of rest from the digestive perspective. It is
my observation that the digestive process takes a lot of energy from
the body. When the body is not expending so much energy digesting, or
dealing with allergens, or toxins, it has more time to fix the system.
I have long believed that the average non diabetic has their beta
cell population wiped out on occasion. The difference between them
and Type 1 diabetics is for whatever reason, the type 1's system did
not quickly regenerate the beta cells.

Good luck,
