New member Rick here.

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Hi,

My name is Rick, and i’m a new member to this group. Last week I was
diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I don’t have the usual symptoms
commonly associated with T-2, though I can’t say it was a complete
shock. I’m 49, over-weight, and haven’t exercised much this past year.
I guess one question I have is what is the groups opinion on the
best/most painless glucose testing equipment? Are test strips
compatible with different reading machines? I have started to cut out
sweets/sugars, fats and carb’s from my diet.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

diabetes has many causes

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

but all lead to the same thing.

for destruction of the beta cells you must have two things:

a predisposition
and an enviromental factor.

of course if you physically damage the pancreas in an accident like a car crash
your condition will also be diabetic.

people talk about fibrosis so here you go.

diabetes can take as much as 9 years from pre-diabetic till symptoms.

i can be caused by a viral epitope, most commenly from mups, measels or polio

Do you mean diabetes reversal as in you ate low carb long enough that you can
eat carbs now without your bs going high? Or do you mean reversal as in if
you stay on a low carb diet, your bs stays normal?

Pollutants increase type II diabetes risk

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

The risk of developing Type 2 diabetes may be heightened in people
exposed to high levels of certain pollutants through their diet,
suggest Swedish research findings.

<snip> The study of fishermen and their wives showed that high
levels of persistent organochlorine pollutants (POPs) were present
in those with Type 2 diabetes.</snip>

Arsenic also is a very prevalent dietary pollutant that has been
previously named in several studies as a cause of diabetes (and
cancer) at very low chronc exposures. I’ve previously mentioned the
filter technology that removes all - 100% — of the arsenic from
drinking water. Code Blue.

This new study obviously highlights and extends this knowledge base

Re: autoimmune disease and age-related degeneration protocol

I sense that is a sometime-in-the-future consideration of a plan of
action, rather than a commitment to do something today.

I hope that’s not the case and that you’re really considering a
degenerative illness protocol; it’s worked for dozens of people
with serious disorders and the references clearly show it’s science
based.

Diabetes is considered by many doctors to be a disease of
accelerated aging; the protocol reduces the accelerated aging of
degenerative illnesses including diabetes.

> Now we can have only one scientist with the right info?

One scientist has published more detailed information, verified by actual
clinical research. The others did a fair amount of shooting in the dark based
what details they had and assumption. Dr. Chilton refers to instances in
which they purvey incorrect information based on incomplete data.

Undoubtably if the other scientists had the funding they could repeat Dr.
Chilton’s work. At the time, Chilton had the funding so he went ahead and
was the first to do this research properly and publish his results.

The data does not invalidate earlier work but it does add the scientific detail
we needed.

I don’t think anyone proclaimed anything; Chilton’s book is quite clear

diabetes, inflammation, and organ fibrosis

Saturday, May 13th, 2006

Organ fibrosis is the leading cause of organ failure in the
elderly and it’s particularly prevalent in diabetes, a disorder
that is accompanied by lot of inflammation.

In inflammation, rather than healing by resolution, healing of
damage occurs by scarring. This is the beginning of the
excessive scarring called fibrosis. Scarring does not
produce specialised cells in the organ so organ function is
impaired.

Obviously, inflammation should be reduced. The biggest
source of inflammation is pro-inflammatory messengers
contained in our food choices. These can easily be
minimized.

Hi Robert;

Thanks for that; the difference is that Chilton’s book is based on actual
clinical
studies, six of them, it takes into account several contributory factors of food
that other diets do not, and it provides a numeric inflammatory index of each
food with the dietary guidelines. In other words it contains new information,
directly from the researcher, that is either not available anywhere else, or not
available under one cover as a clinically-validated plan.

Hopefully, it won’t contain the common mistakes the other books contain;
he illuminates these in Inflammation Nation too. For example, many inflammatory
diet books books urge people to eat salmon. In the wild they do not contain much
pro-inflammatory, but when farmed, contain 13 times the daily allowance of
pro-inflammatory in a single modestly-sized serving. Similar mistakes actually

a reason diabetes is an inflammatory disorder

Saturday, May 13th, 2006

As we know, diabetes is an inflammatory disorder.

I’ve been looking harder into the exact causes of the inflammation, and
found Dr. Chilton’s new book The Inflammation Nation, which explains
the dietary insults in detail, based on six proper clinical studies as well
as current knowledge of inflammation.

Anti-inflammatory diets are provided. I got my copy on www.abe.com
for about $10, shipping included.

…diabetics do not normally make nough of the anti-inflammatory
essential fatty acid GLA, an anti-inflammatory fat. So, you
incorporate it into your food for example.

This information can add years and perhaps decades to peoples’
