Insulin Resistance

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

Hi all, I am a little frustrated. As we all know, Insulin Resistance
is the real monkey on our back, and I am trying to impress upon the
people in my community about how ITS the problem, and not obesity! Do
any of you have any really good links showing percentages of americans
with Insulin Resistance, how it affects metabolism, means of
addressing it, etc? You can post here, or even better, post yourself
to give me numbers to back up my arguement! To date, I am
fighting "Step Away From That Twinkie" and "Fat People are Disgusting"

Thanks

Hope for Chronic Pain

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

ROCKVILLE, Utah (Ivanhoe Broadcast News) — Thousands of Americans are out
of work and permanently disabled because of chronic pain. Usually these
patients are treated with heavy doses of medication, however, a new program
combines the best of several therapies to pack a serious punch.

Today, Myrna Soderquist makes sure every customer leaves her store with a
pair of shoes and a smile. Soderquist was in severe pain and didn’t have
much to smile about a few months ago after two hip replacements, back
surgery and a leg lengthening procedure.

Soderquist has chronic pain. "It was very, very difficult for me to just
walk through a complete step," she explains. Doctors even labeled her
permanently disabled, and she needed more than 10 prescription pain pills a
day.

Today’s Cool Site…

How old are you?

After a certain birthday, many people don’t like to talk about their age. If
that sounds like you, maybe you’re looking at your wrong age.

Confused? Well, you have an actual age, and then you have a "health age." Your
health age reveals your age based on health factors.

Today’s Cool Site will help you determine this. It also reveals your life
expectancy based on family history and lifestyle. All you have to do is answer a
series of quick questions.

Fw: [COPD-ALERT] Revolutionary Revival of Homeopathy and its Demolis

The Revolutionary Revival of Homeopathy

and its Demolishment by the World Media

by Louise Mclean

27th August 2005.

Anyone who read the papers, watched the news or listened to their radios
yesterday might be forgiven for wondering what yesterday’s media demolishment of
homeopathy was all about. It comes hard on the heels of a report on 24th August
that Prince Charles commissioned a study on the economic benefits of
complementary medicine and a report in The Times UK on 21st August which stated
that ‘demand for alternative therapies such as acupuncture and homeopathy is
soaring and people are increasingly using their medical insurance to pay for

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

When I get up and take a reading before breakfast
I find it to be 8.4 or something around there.

why is it up in the morning.
quite often I see this advice, do reading before meal ,
it shoud be between 4& 7, then after meal should be between 5 &10

so if high to start with and I eat and it goes higher ,
what on earth do I do.

vitamin C reduces glucose levels?

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

I’m working on an article on using vitamin C against the lethal H5N1
avian flu pandemic, and just came across this gem: "When Vitamin C
levels drop, glycogen in the liver is converted to glucose: a
response to stress." [Klenner]

Obviously we should reduce stress, which can result from
malnutrition, toxins, electromagnetic interference and emotional
loading, to keep BG levels down. In this context the vitamin C was
probably deficient.

Hi Debs - What was the specific problem with the Diabeticine? Was it just
that it didn’t work for you, or did it cause unpleasant side effects. As for
me, I checked out their website and it seemed a bit pricey to me. I also prefer
taking the separate ingredients since my stomach is sometimes sensitive.
