Re: Type 2 Women & Thinning Hair Spot

I’d like to ask the women on this list who have Type 2 if they have a
noticeable  thinning of hair in the area of the bangs or just behind the bangs
on the
top of the head …. ?

When I was in the endocrinologist’s office about a year ago, there were quite
a few women around my age and younger, all with the same area of thinning -
the hairline is not receded as in male pattern baldness, just a noticeable very
much thinner spot as I mentioned.  I believe untreated hypothryoidism, which
I also have, causes thinning of the hair all over, but I’m wondering if the
particular on top thinning is due to Type 2, sugar staying too high.

A friend of mine who is also Type 2 also has the thinning in that spot, but
she’s always said hers is due to menopause.  But after I saw all the women in
that office with the same thin spot, I wondered if maybe that was peculiar to

Type 2.
Thanks,
Kady
