blood sugar?

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

I got real sick over the weekend, they think due to out of control insulin
and sugar levels.

The dr drew bloods today, so we wont know for a few days about it.

but how does a 12 hour fasting blood sugar of 138 sound and a post meal
blood sugar of 238?

They sound high to me. Some folks have told me that the accucheck is in
fact very inaccurate, and that it tends to read high, forcing patients to end
up
using insulin, which can put you into a coma if you don’t really need it!

What is Konnyaku? A Japanese Traditional Marvelous Hidden Health Foo

Friday, January 13th, 2006

I was preparing some for my miso soup and thought of you Irene and the
others here who want natural foods that have no carbohydrates. This is
one is quite something. I was introduced to it in a japanese cooking
class in holland and now buy it here in little squares or in noodles in
japanese shops but there is much more being done with it!

you know I am so surprised too that no one commented on the links I
posted about some of the things I found online like Banaba - a
traditional phillipino herb. I am looking into it now - it is known
there are natural insulin. And I have been pursuing the research on the
insulin patch and oralin - all could be amazing!

and now also the Enar to restimulate the pancreas and other organs. I
will keep you posted!

Hi Jeff,
This is true - it’s as hard to find a good homeopath as to find a good
person in any non-regulated profession - maybe harder. One has to do the
"buyer beware" thing. That’s not good in a health profession and those
of us who are well trained homeopaths would like nothing better than to
see a system in USA as there is in New Zealand: There, homeopaths have
the option of registering with the state after proving a certain level
of competency and training first. The qualification I have from BIH
(British Institute of Homeopathy) and the one at the NZ homeopathy
school (Bay of Plenty School of homeopathy) are two of the very few

Re: oils — the doctors ignorance

Saturday, January 7th, 2006

I run into that a lot too, Irene, and I can’t fathom why doctors are
mainly so hasty to discredit rather than investigate. Is the mental
block some doctors have, developed during training and conditioning
(brainwashing), an acknowlegement of the control imposed by the
medical association, a reluctance to continue learning, or perhaps an
instinct to preserve the status quo that elevates them to some
perceived superior status? All they did was work nough to get their
papers. In my view, where results count, practitioners other than
doctors have the edge.
