Hello All, I’m New to the Group

This is my first post in this group I believe, so I have a lot to say,
so please bear with me. My mom has Type II diabetes. I have been
working hard to be of assistance, however I haven’t been able to do
much. She now unfortunately will be going on dialysis. She will be
getting a fiscular put into her arm this week because her kidneys are
now at 12-14%. I was working so hard with her to get her to change her
diet, and she even starting exercising at Curves. She’d lost 57
pounds, however this was over a two year period and her renal failure
may have aided in this.

I had found out that drinking juniper berry tea is supposed to assist
in healing your kidneys. It’s been a hard battle because she would
still need to lose about 100 pounds, which exacerbates her high blood
pressure condition. I think that if she could lose the weight, her
blood pressure would lower, and that her increased exercise coupled

with responsible eating, she would be doing pretty good. Now that she
will be on dialysis, I don’t know how this will affect her steps at
losing weight. I’ve read a lot here about AIC. I’d like to know what
this is, and how often this number should be monitored. It sounds like
a 3 month assessment of one’s blood sugar level. I can take the steps
to find this out once I know what it is and how to do it. hate scare
tactics, so this is not what I am doing. My mom has already has minor
surgeries for her vision because of increased pressure. I really want
to do something to stop this, and I feel powerless and like I’m
running out of time. I’d really like any testimonials from persons
that have been able to manage this condition. I really want to know
how I can curtail her body organ’s damages. I don’t mind the brunt
truth….I’ve cried a lot over her situation, so while getting more
"hard truth" may hurt, I would rather be informed. I want to include
necessary foods and nutrients/supplements, and help her lose that
weight via a good exercise regimen. I really want to know what is a
reasonable expectation for weight loss in a given month/year. I thank
you in advance for taking the time to learn about me and hopefully you
can help me.

Thank you,

Armond Jenkins
