My Diabetes Cured (Remission)

Saturday, December 31st, 2005

This group is about sharing experience for cruing Diabetes. I’d like
to share my situation and where I am now. I’m not advocating my
method for curing diabetes since I don’t believe that it is for
everyone. Each person is different and has their own situation. But
I wanted to share what happened to me and my diabetes.

I was a Type II 4 shot a day insulin dependent diabetic and on oral
meds for almost 10 years. My A1C was usually over 9 most of the
time, and when I was fortunate, I got it down to a controllable 7 or
8. I was between about 80 and 100 lbs overweight.
I monitored several times a day, and counted carbs. I went to
classes to get educated and I read everything that I could on
diabetes. It was an ongoing struggle as it is for most diabetics.
I had heard stories that people who went through weight loss surgery
(gastric bypass) were getting their diabetes cured. At almost 100

silver IDDM alert jewelry (necklace)

Friday, December 30th, 2005

Hey! Does anyone know of differing options to buy a silver IDDM (or
Type 1) alert necklace. I like the kids’ version at the MedAlert
website best and since I have just been diagnosed I don’t know where to
go to see the fullest selection.
Thanks!

Uncurable

Thursday, December 22nd, 2005

Members:
I have come across a 12 tape series of information by a Dr. Richard Schules. He
was a student of the late Dr. John Christopher. They helped people with
incurable diseases cure themselves and proved that there are no uncurable
diseases. If you want to believe in yourself and want more information, please
e-mail me. This is not a commercial, I am a type II diabetic trying to help my
body heal just like you are. My gain is to know that I may have helped someone
try to regain their health. How important is that?

Grandmothers can be great - I learned a lot from mine who lived to be
105, the average age for her 13 siblings! One of them "messed up the
stats" by checking out extra-early at a mere 98 years. All were
small-farm operators and grew their own produce and meat.
I suspect the meat they ate was very different from supermarket
grain-fed beef and dairy - the latter has been shown to have very little

Re: Digest Number 1190

Saturday, December 17th, 2005

I asked my Dr. to put my on insulin as my diet and meds did not check me in
the proper range due to me not being completely able to stay on a good diet.
I travel a lot for my job and do not always get to eat correctly. He
thought that Lantus was something to try with a slight alteration in my
meds. I have been taking it for almost 2 years now and I have been in
better control with its help. The only time I have had a low sugar episode
was when I did not eat breakfast (once, learned my lesson). Other then that
I have had no negative reactions.

Hi,
Why do you not recommend Novolog? (Are you a doctor or are you
discussing a personal perspective from your own experience or? Please
put this in context?)

It’s not the same as Humalog though it is also a fast-acting Insulin,
not quite as fast as humalog.
Novolog is the USA trade name for Aspart and is a rDNA derived insulin
and not made from animal or human source. I have only a couple weeks
experience with it - but my only other option would have been
Humalog/Lispro and my doctor feels the latter is *more* likely to cause

Metformin Extended Release

Saturday, December 10th, 2005

Can anyone tell me about Metformin Extended Release? My dr. has me on
1000 units twice a day of the regular kind, which is not really
controlling my high free fasting insulin. Maybe the extended release
kind would work better for me.

Hello all,
This list appealed to me because I do not use drugs at all, and am
always on the lookout for ways to help my health without those "sweep it
under the carpet" approaches. Sooner or later you trip over the hump in
the carpet and land on your face anyway :-)
My email intro here is longish - I hope not too long but maybe get
some green tea or whatever works for you, then read.

I am type II and do currently have dependence on insulin. I had high
blood glucose a long time which doctors totally ignored believing my
other health issues were so severe that this was "nothing" and "just a
side effect of the main issue".
I wish I had known. Well I did not and finally in Nov last year, the
new endocrinologist asked me what diabetes drugs I was on (based on my
