Growth Hormone Therapy Reduces Morbidity

This will interest people who are aware that we have the ability to
impede aging and deterioration. This post is from the longevity
discussion group but it will be particularly useful to diabetics.

Pat RN responding to your question about the relationship between
glucose and GH. I can explain part of the relationship.

GH burns "fats" for energy when glucose/ carbohydrates are not
available. An example is one who is on a low carbohydrate diet. Prior
to age 36-38, there is sufficient GH to activate fat stores when one
is on a low carbohydrate diet.

When GH levels fall below a critical level, there is not enough GH to
activate fat stores for energy. This leads to carbohydrate cravings
because the body cannot access fat stores. This also increases
fatigue and prevents weight loss.

High glucose levels block GH’s ability to work. Insulin and GH
antagonize each other as does glucose.

Additionally, excess fat stores secrete chemicals that block GH’s
ability to work. You may be interested that some scientist are now
classifying diabetes as a disease of "accelerated aging".

[Yes… this is why I became curious to learn more about diabetes,
and that is how I became so obsessed with glucose and controlling
glucose "by hook or by crook". I am convinced that if we can control
glucose, however we do it, we will age at the slowest possible rate.

The best way is to stimulate as little insulin as possible, with a
high nutrient, low carb, meal… plus exercise… plus metformin or
insulin or whatever, if you need it. Metformin is not insulin, and it
does not do what insulin does.

The best way to eat correctly if you don’t want to measure your
glucose levels is TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, stick to the low end of the
Carbohydrate Thermometer. I have measured my glucose more than 3000
times, and I guarantee that Animal Origin and Vegetables will not
raise MY glucose levels very much at all… and half size portions of
fruits are o.k… and quarter size portions of beans and nuts…
Everything else is NOT nutrient rich and TOO HOT. Learn the seven
groups of the Carbohydrate Thermometer by memory, and start to use it
to choose your foods:

I am certain that metformin is precisely what many people should use,
but it is not exactly right for many others who take metformin like
they would take any vitamin, because it doesn’t scare them… but
they are scared to take insulin, which is what they should use.

Most doctors don’t know how to use insulin themselves, and they have
studied in books how hypoglycemia is very dangerous (which is true,
but it is not going to happen if you use insulin correctly) so they
are scared to prescribe insulin to their patients. I have read a lot
of very bad advice from doctors, even famous specialists. The only
doctor who I know knows about insulin is Dr. Richard Bernstein, and I
know he would agree with me on this because he has had to fight
doctors, even the American Diabetes Association, all his life,
including now. And he has been right all the time.

Related to GH replenishment increasing longevity: This is correct. GH
prolongs the longevity at the individual cell level, preventing the
loss of organ size that occurs with aging. Disease follows the loss
of organ size because the organ does not have enough "workers" (cells
that make chemicals) to do its job, resulting in chronic diseases of
aging.

[Yes… GH also strengthens the immune system, which prevents trouble
from starting. But if you do not control your glucose level then you
work against the benefits of growth hormone to your immune system,
because we know for a fact that high glucose damages everything from
your circulatory system to your nervous system, and even your bones
and your muscles will suffer… etc.

In any case, I suggest you use growth hormone at the same time that
you control your glucose levels. They are both very very important.

Thanks for writing. - Ellis]
