______________
That is absurd. There is a TON of research on diabetes and ph balance.
Diabetics ARE ph challenged.

rice bran

Sunday, August 7th, 2005

I guess I will take it back to the healt food market, so I can see if they know
if it is the same ’soluable’ stuff in the capsules! It does not say anything on
the bag, except rice bran and to keep refridgerated or in freezer.
I’ll chek out the recipie lists to see if they are low carb. I’m at a point
where I cannot handle carbs.
I hear about a ‘diet’ pill that has an effect on the hormone that makes one fat,
the one that links to stress…Well, if you look in the dictionary for STRESSED
OUT TO THE MAX, you will find my pic!!! so, might look into that sometime…

Re: Digest Number 1016

The real question is whats the difference?? If its just rice bran stuffed into
capsules so you don’t have to swollow it, I guess what you see is what you get.
But if its the same thing included in your banana bread recipe, cutting down on
the carbo’s while providing a beneficial element of nutrients and easily
digested low carb fiber to your diet, then perhaps you actially have a better
solution without the pills.

I mostly pointed out that the sites about the bran seemed to sell the capsules.
If you think about it, if there is a buck to be made with it, they are doing it.
It actually implies there IS something to this if they are making money. It
Doesn’t reduce any benefit from the cheap stuff from the health store, which is
usually fresher and more organic.

I did a dumb thing

I went and bought some rice bran at the health food store. It was not the
capsules. The sites I looked at (thanks Chris) ALL talk about the CAPSULES, and

A1C chart for retinopathy chances….

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005

Hi Jeff.

I have uploaded a chart that shows the risk of retinopathy based on A1C in the
FILES section of this list. I don’t have one for neuropathy, but this gives you
an idea of the point. It is very important to keep your BG’s under 120, and
under 100 is optimum. My educator talks about keeping under 160, but I think
this is way too high for consideration, IMHO, and if you cannot keep it under
that, you should go on insulin.

Chris,

PS. I also uploaded a good chart that shows food values for not only fat, carbs
and Glycemic Index, but the Glycemic Load also. I hope this helps people who
are fishing for information….;O)
