Re: Kady, and a ? about ER4YBT (D’Adamo)

mostly grain (complex carbs), soy, and veggies… quite low on

I’ve read a lot of D’Adamo and a lot about him pro and con. I think D’Adamo’s
emphasis on grains is basically wrong–very few people need to eat a lot of
grains to be healthy (though some people do well w/a lot of grains). I heard
from 1 source that D’Adamo’s de-emphasized grains (even for type As) in 1 of his
latest books. I think it’s safest to avoid nonfermented soy. I think fermented
soy (particularly TEMPEH)’s very healthy for most people, particularly most
people w/diabetes.

I would take D’Adamo’s food RECOMMENDATIONS (for one’s blood type) w/a grain of
salt. I would give MODERATE consideration to the lists of foods he says to AVOID
(for one’s blood type); these are more reliable, though not that reliable. The
"avoid" foods do cause problems for a lot of people (though not all people).
According to 1 clinician I respect, the "avoid" foods that most commonly cause
problems for people are:
Blood Type O’s should beware of grains (especially nonsprouted wheat & gluten
[rye & oats, though oats are supposed to be great for diabetics]), corn,
cauliflower, kidney & navy beans, white/red potatoes, peanuts, oranges, & dairy
Type A’s should beware of red meat, pork, wheat, banana, oranges, mango,
tomato, & papaya.
Type B’s should beware of pork, chicken, tomato, peanuts, shellfish, corn,
olives, wheat, sunflower & sesame seeds.
I think MOST people are safest off avoiding or minimizing nonsprouted wheat,
gluten, corn, white/red potatoes (particularly if cooked at moderate or high
temperatures), peanuts, oranges, & dairy (unless it’s organic [ideally
grass-fed] AND it’s either raw and/or cultured), pork, nonorganic banana,
oranges, and shellfish. I particularly think nonsprouted WHEAT, CORN, and

Except the dose even for tempeh and miso is only two tablespoons daily,
as higher than that thyroid suppression starts to occur.
