Hi Mary,
Diabetes I is a symptom of an immune system gone awry. This can even
result in BOTH autiommune and lax immune responses at the same time,
and it often does that in Lupus.
These are two of the diseases linked to malformed receptor sites.
With what I’ve learned so far I suspect that low antioxidant values,
especially glutathione, may play a role, because immune system
dysfunctions are usually kicked off by toxin load of some sort. Most
toxins or their intermetiate metabolites are in fact free radicals, and
the energy burden produced reduces the conversion of the essential
sugars from one to another another, which itself is an energy-intensive
15-step process. Without the correct sugars available, receptor sites
are malformed.
