Butchers Broom

Saturday, July 23rd, 2005

Could somebody please remind me what Butcher’s Broom is for. I have
developed some tingling/heat in the soles of my feet over the past
year. Also, what feels like restless leg syndrome, deep inside my right
leg. I am assuming this is neuropathy. I’m not getting very far
searching the archives but I seem to recall Butcher’s Broom for this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

While waiting for the cure.

Hi gang !

I wonder if anyone else questions the effectiveness of their insulin
as a possible answer for loss of their tight control ?

Insulin breaks down in heat. It begins at 87 degrees for the type of
insulin I use. When your temperature is in the sixties, inside the
Fed X, UPS, USPS, or store delivery metal trucks are in the
eighties. The simple little frozen pack shipped with some insulin
turns into water in about 2 hours when in 87 degree heat. I called
the manufacturer and asked how long the insulin could stand to be at
87 degrees or higher, and was told they were still doing test ???,
but it begins breaking down in minutes at 87 degrees. I don’t know
about where you live, but here in Arizona it in the sixties or higher
the majority of the year, and If their not using refrigerated trucks,

Calcium Disodium EDTA 750 mg

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

Hi everybody -

My name is Arianne and i’m new to the group. I would like to
introduce to everyone a new product that’s out it’s called
Detoxamin, Calcium Disodium EDTA, 750 mg. The Calcium EDTA in
Detoxamin has an extra chemical bond compared to the older Disodium
EDTA. This gives Detoxamin EDTA an affinity for Mercury. Detoxamin
utilizes the colon wall for EDTA assimilation, it is a powerful
mercury chelator, making it possible to eliminate DMPS in some
patients.

Detoxamin removes most harmful toxins in the body, safely and
effectively. It is taken at night prior to bedtime. This new method
of delivery - through the colon- is considered by experts to be even
more effective than IV, because it goes directly to the organs of

sugar and fat

Actually, it’s the unsaturates and polyunsaturated that are harmful.
Animals live longer on saturated fats.

new member intro; metabolic typing & diet; animal & non-animal foods

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

Hello,
My name’s Leonard, and I’m new to the list. I don’t have diabetes but my
stepbrother (and several friends) do, and I’ve read as much as I can on diet &
natural supplements for people w/diabetes (and cancer) and Syndrome X.

To a lesser extent, I think people w/blood type O TEND to do better on a
high-protein, high-fat diet, and bood type A tend to do better on a low-fat,
low-protein diet consisting mostly of (complex) carbs, but I don’t think the
correlation’s that strong.

<<Fruit of any kind sends my blood sugar soaring.
However, I happen to really dislike animal products….
if no animal products, what then do you eat?>>
From what I’ve read, I think the best non-animal foods for most people
w/diabetes are

Kady,

I forgot to post that I use the book "Eat More, Weigh Less" by Dean
Ornish, M.D., which provides menus, but most of all it outlines good
basic dietary guidelines to follow. You maybe interested in checking
that out.

For a more detailed outline of diabetes and citing of studies, you can
go to: dukeandthedoctor.com on the left side of the page there is a
green box for Library/Reference Room, from there you will be able to
look up diabetes. I do not recommend purchasing any supplements from the
site as they are expensive. You can find them cheaper on the internet,
not the same brand but name brands which are just as good.

The reading there for diabetes also indicates that the ADA diet may not

Yes, Just as Anna had problems with Samuels post, I too feel this is
contradictory to everything we have been taught. The ADA might
spout common sense for the average person, but the Diabetic diet is
counterintuitive. There probably IS merit to certain fats causing
our initial IR, but hard as it is to accept, its healthier for us to
eat a pound of raw bacon than to eat 2 cups of strawberries.

Chris.

PS, my apologies for not posting the Actos file, but it was in a PDF
form that would not allow me to easily copy to file. What I got out
of it was a lot of highly technical gobbly gook I think most of us
would find useless. You can still find this PDF at

You will find useful charts and such I could not transfer to the

Hi Janice, I am glad you are posting. ..;O)

I think Ann probably gave the best advice, get Bernsteins book, and subscribe to
more lists. I personally found I already had more information on Diabetes from
another list than my educator gives me to date, and now everytime I go there, I
give her printouts of things I have found. In a nutshell, you need to educate
yourself, not depend on someone else to find your solutions.

Your description of whats happening to your system says you are going through
huge Blood Glucose swings, from over 200 to under 50. You need to stabalize
this out. The medication you are on is glyburide. I did a little search for
you and here is a site that tells you more of how it works.

I think it reeks of "By the Book ADA" but it still tells you its a sulf. Ask
your Dr. what kind of distribution your glyburide has. It almost sounds like

Re: Digest Number 1001

Kady,

Ahhh, yes the eternal thought …. how to get off of them. My first
question would be, what is the reason you use carbohydrates as the
measure? I believe it is the metabolism of energy and absorption of
nutrients and conversion of certain carbohydrates into sugar which is
the challenge.

Part of using the ‘carbs’ comes in with a good walking and exercise
regimen. Walking as the front war on it and other exercise as you are
able or desirous.

A major reason a diabetic does NOT want to be on any animal product is
due to the hormones and antibiotics which are added to the animal and
during processing which has an adverse effect on our health, unbeknownst

Happy New Year!

I just wanted to stop lurking for a bit and contribute and ask questions
and promulgate some discussions etc…. ;-)
First off, I would ask what do we eat? Do many of us, Type 2 and/or
hypoglycemics, understand that eating animal products contribute to
blood sugars being out of kilter more often than not? This means even
items like butter.

How often or have we read the labels on foods to see what is very low in
sugar and salt, even if it means we might have to cook from scratch?

How many of us walk at least 15 minutes a day?
