Re: Human Growth Hormone Increasing
Hi Mary;
I buy a commercial blend because it reliably produces the effect I’m
looking for. Also, amino acids are a restricted item in Canada so buying
all the right ones and blending them myself is a big hassle.
The blend’s mix is about:
l-lysine 1200 mg
l-arginine 1200 mg.
l-ornithine 850 mg
l-glutamine 500 mg
l-glycine 450 mg
l-valine 300
l-leucine 250
l-isoleucine 250
I say about because the actual formula is only disclosed by a range in
the patent, and not on the label.
My clients who take the product report better sleep patterns all right.
And HGH levels and hence growth tends to stay elevated a little longer in
the day if people don’t eat any carbs at least until noon. HGH levels are
reduced in the presence of elevated insulin, so in effect it’s also
obviously keeping down their insulin levels. And we know HGH increases
cellular insulin sensitivity, not bad at all for amino acids.
Because carbs promote a rise in insulin, and insulin reduces HGH, which
reduces metabolism and reduced growth and repair, carbs right before bed
is not a good idea, because they will reduce your largest natural HGH
spike in the day, which would normally occur 30 minutes to 90 minutes
after falling asleep.
I’d eat carbs if I must, at supper time.
One gets enough carbs in the diet even if they completely eliminate high-
glycemic fruit, sugar, and all flour products except perhaps rye and a
couple of the exotics. For example Inulin and FOS, a natural component of
plants, is a non-digestible carb, but a carb nonetheless, that qualifies
after fermentation by the correct bowel bacteria.
This subject of diet includes references to diabetes, in the book "Fat
Wars" by master nutritionist and Internationa speaker Brad King. I’ve had
people generally follow those giudelines and lose more than 60 pounds in
5 months, without dieting, by merely changing when they eat carbs and
increasing their protein intake.
