Re: : Jewell - re metformin
Jewell, in a recent email you stated that you are using glucophage for a
period of one year to bring down your H score. Would you, and others on this
list who are taking/have taken glucophage, please tell me how long you took
it before you noticed it was bringing your bs under control. My doctor said
to me, ‘it’s a great diet pill.’ Do you find that to be so - has it caused
you to lose weight?

Ok, thank you… see, this is where I get confused - taking the med and also
doing the diet. I have a friend who also takes glucophage. And she adheres
really strictly to the pyramids, the ADA diet, only a very occasional stray,
and also keeps very active. Her numbers stay down around 70-80 all the
time. But I keep wondering, why take the glucophage if you have enough
willpower to stick to the diet and exercise? See what I’m asking? Sorry if
it’s a dumb question, but I don’t understand. She says to me that the
glucophage controls the diabetes, not her.
