Re: Sea salt & water

Linda…. I received the sea salt that I ordered, but I have to confess that
my own busy-ness has kept me from even starting the water/sea salt, so I
haven’t even tried it yet…. but am very encouraged to hear that you feel it
is working for you, and will definitely start tomorrow morning…. could I
ask how soon after you started when you noticed your sugars coming down?
Feel like sharing the other things you have been doing as well to get the
sugar down? Do you take any meds?

Hi Kady. well, I think I seemed to be more stable within a few days.
You are type-2, aren’t you? I’m type-1. The fundamental differences
between our physiology/pathology might make the time scale different
too. And as i say, I’ve always had a good day here and there, so it
will take some further scrutiny to figure what is causing what and if
it is significant! Other things I’m doing…I’m gradually adjusting
to using Lantus insulin once a day (evening) and humulin regular for
meals and to correct if I get out of whack during the day. I bought
and have started reading Dr. Bernstein’s book. He keeps his blood
sugar absolutely in range by eating only foods that are slow to raise
the blood sugar. Protein, fat, and low carbohydrate. I am an A
positive blood type. The recommended diet is whole grain and
vegetables, mainly, which is what I had evolved toward eating even
before I learned about the "Eat 4 your blood type" idea. I have been
mostly vegetarian for 25 years! So eating all protein and fat is
tricky for me. But I have been moving in that direction recently. I
bought some laying hens with a rooster and am feeding them organic
grains and sprouted lentils and wheat and lots of free range greens
(what I like to eat!) and then eating their eggs. I was allergic to
eggs if I ate very many before I had NMT, another thing I’ve been
doing recently. Tomorrow I have my last NMT appointment for a while
(ran out of $!) NMT definitely got rid of all my food allergies. But
that wasn’t a big problem for me. I only had a few. And I am off
thyroid medication and taking a homeopathic instead, but I won’t call
this a miracle (I don’t have a thyroid gland at all anymore) until I
get a blood test done to see where my TSH and T4 levels are. Should
know in a couple weeks. I think NMT is easing the volatility of my
blood sugars - I don’t go quite so high quite so fast….As you can
see there are a lot of possibilities as what’s going on. May be I’m
just paying better attention to my blood sugar. That alone can make a
huge difference, as all of us who are type-1 Know! Because of the
salt water protocol I’m down to 1 cup of coffee/day from 2-3. Also, I
gave up beer (Wahhhhhh!) because I muscle tested No-No on it, and it
is dehaydrating. Oddly, a shot of Irish whiskey was OK! Go figure. No
yeast? But all alcohol is dehydrating so I’m only giving in
occasionally. That’s got to be more than you want to know about the
circus act that is my daily health routine! I hope the salt/water
program helps you. Being hydrated has to be good. Pinch the skin on
the back of your hand for 5 seconds and let go. Count how many
seconds it takes for the crease to disappear completely. Under 3 is
great. Over 8 is not so great. Speaks of hydration and skin
elasticity I think. I take about 10, like some old granny. My
husband, a year older (51), takes 1 second. 1 second! He’s an
Arborist, tree worker who can hang horizontally in a tree using a
chain saw out at the end of his outstretched arm. Maybe exercise is
the key to the whole danged thing! -Linda R
