Hi David… I find this statement fascinating. I read just a couple of
quotes in a pamphlet some time ago attributed to an old doctor who
incorporates "folk medicine" into his practice. He says that in folk
medicine, it’s believed that diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease,
etc., are all "high energy" diseases, and that when the body is calmed down
and switched back into low gear by the use of folk remedies such as iodine
and apple cider vinegar, it will reverse those diseases. Essentially, that
is what the woman Zyra on the site that you sent also said. Have you any
links to any websites that expand on the ancient Greeks curing diabetes by
the doctors talking to their patients?

Ok …. I disagree almost totally. If what you are saying is that you
believe illness comes from the mind-body connection, I think that is a big
part of it. Your mind, your thoughts are a huge part of your
wellness/illness. But also you can’t fill your body with junk and expect it
to run right. I believe the two run hand in hand.

Where am I? I am consumed with grief over losing my 17-yr-old son in a car
accident in 1997, and watching my youngest son who was in the accident with
him struggle to recover physically and emotionally. and yes, those emotions
totally whack your body system. But in addition, I retreated so far into
grief that I stopped doing anything except eating comfort foods like ice
cream and pasta and laying on the couch, sleeping as many hours of the day as
I could to hide from my pain, gulping anti-depressants and benzos and
Prilosec with the aid of the medical community. So there again I believe it
was a combination of the two things — the overload of emotions and the
non-care of my body that led to my type 2. It definitely mattered what I ate
and drank.

Hum.. I tried sending this before, but I didn’t see it post, so here
goes again!
Hi David…
I probably am not ever described as reticent, but then I am type 2. I
agree that we all most likely are going to manifest an illness that
follows emotional blockages/issues, much as Louise Hay notes in her
book, "You can heal your life." In it, she connects many
illnesses/physical problems with unresolved emotional issues based on
what she has encountered in her practice. And perhaps some of it is as
basic as how do we deal with stress? Or not? *shrug* I definitely do
know, though, for myself, there is some underlying emotional reason for
whatever physical problem I am manifesting. All in all though, most
people tend to want to focus on something they can control more
directly.. ie diet/exercise/etc. Doing emotional work hurts like heck,
usually! The bigger the issue, the more so, and because of that, it
tends to fall waaaaaaaay down on the list of things people want deal
with! Having dealt with a LOT of my own emotional baggage, I can only
say I am not surprised I manifested illness/physical issues.. what does
surprise me is how little, really, over the years. So, in general, I
believe a good balance of all working on all those levels (ie
diet/exercise, physiological possiblities like parasite
infestation/toxicity, and emotional/spiritual issues) can only improve
one’s chances for truly taking control of one’s life, and kicking these
life-debilitiating problems to the curb! *smile*
