Rafi,

This was the first book I read when I was diagnosed 3 years ago. I
was so impressed and immediately jumped in. I tried to get an appt.
with Dr. Bernstein but was dismayed at his prices, about $3000 if I
remember correctly. I did the diet for about 2 weeks and then totally
caved in to carbohydrate cravings.

Since that time I've read many books on diet for diabetes. I wish I
could do the strict low carb thing, I really do. I have friends that
do it and they are so darn healthy now. Very consistant, low blood
sugars. Weight loss, great cholesterol etc. Dr. B. is so strict with
carbs. No fruit- that was the killer. I have, over the past year,
given up all the white stuff (bread, sugar etc.) but fruit I just
cannot, at least not right now. I do struggle with my bs spiking when
<!--more-->
I eat fruit but...it's where I am right now.

I love the idea of complications being reversed.

Debra..
I hope you will forgive me for pushing back against certain bullying and
harrassment techinques. Probably I can't resist responding and pointing
out obvious flawed logic and delusional thinking because I had an older
sister who used to try to control and manipulate me in ways very
similar. From here on out though, I am going to delete said harrassment,
as noted previously, and stick to answering questions people might have
for me, or putting in what my experience has been with various things,
if I have it or have read about it in what I consider significant
sources, 'k?? *smile*

I would say to anyone.. by all means exercise your freedom to delete as
desired, and never believe anyone has the right answer for everyone
else. I know what works for me.. maybe it will work for you.. maybe not.
If you have found something that does work to heal and cure diabetes,
<!--more-->
for sure, I would love-adore-desire to hear as much about it as you
would wish to relate.

Thank you, Rafi, for this link. i have ordered the book. It looks
really interesting! It's great to learn from someone who actually has
diabetes (type-1) and has made real progress with it. 50 years of
and still working 12 hour days happily?! WOW. Gotta like that. High
fat diet sounds almost fun. Well, thanks again. Can't wait to see
what he has to say. Are you type-1 or 2? -Linda R
