For David’s question
For David:
You are right: there are causes for all illnesses. But Type II diabetes is
NOT an illness in the classic sense of an invading bacteria or virus. It is
a byproduct of ABUSE…abuse of food (carbs! and hydrogenated fats), abuse
of our bodies with too much stress and too little exercise, and other as yet
unknown factors, which may include pollution, toxins, pesticides, chemicals,
and their effects on us, and therefore cannot be "CURED" in the same way as
eradicating a virus. But we CAN make the symptoms go away. I’ve done this
myself and helped hundreds do the same. But the moment we go back to the
old ways that put us here, it will come back, just the same as one can
re-break a bone if one repeats the fall or action that broke it in the first
case.
There is no magic pill to cure this. But if one reads the basic premises on
which this forum is based, it’s a group study of all kinds of methods, most
of them natural, or alternatives to drugs.
Terrific, natural supplementation, dietary control, stress management, and
moderate exercise will get most of us to where we want to be: SYMPTOM-FREE
and NORMAL BLOOD SUGAR READINGS.
This is what I believe; this is what I teach; and this is what I LIVE.

Your letter amused me. I found it strange seeing all these letters, but with
nothing new or pertaining to a cure which I thought what this was all about.
I did see one website in which a woman had stopped taking insulin for 4
years with some success but after contracting another condition had to go
back to insulin. She thought she had failed but I believe she was successful
because she had proved the principal.
I believe there is always a cause to illness, whether we recognise it or
not.

My doctor says that it is genetic and I am overweight because I was born
diabetic, not the other way around. New research in Germany supports this.
It is not normal to have to starve yourself to be a normal weight.

TRUE about the TENDENCY towards being overweight…I come from a bunch of
HUGE PEOPLE! But as for being BORN DIABETIC? I’d LOVE to know where he got
THAT info! BORN with a tendency - yeah, I can buy that. But it is NOT
predestined. I have two younger sisters with the exact same genetic
history, and NEITHER of them is diabetic, though both have to struggle to
keep their weight down. ALL of us are in our 50’s.

I think he and the researchers mean some genetic link. This is why I think
the stem cell research may cure the disease. I have never eaten as much as
my skinny friends. It is just sickening.

Type 2 in my case was what I was discussing with him. Basically your body
just doesn’t work correctly. This is one reason why we are seeing Type 2 in
children, now and not before. I suspect it is because we were never tested
as children. So when your body doesn’t process carbs correctly, you get
over weight. So the diabetes causes the overweight, not the other around.
Now in this day and age, you may be able to adjust your eating and not
become overweight. But, in my case being 50, I was brought up to drink 4
glasses of milk, bread etc. to be healthy, instead I was just overweight.
This was based also on a study done by John Hopkins with some German
researchers. Therefore, we can all stop blaming ourselves.

Good going, DEBRA!!! You’re really on the right path!
I do NOT believe diabetes is a progressive illness…only if you continue on
the path that created it in the first place!
