Welcome to the group. I was wondering if you have tried a liver cleanse
with your son and if it helped his type 1 diabetes?
Sincerely, Karen

Dear Steve and Karen,
We are doing the lemon cleanse I described on previous posting over spring break
next week. The recipe in simple terms is two tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon
juice, two tablespoons PURE maple syrup (Grade B or Grade A Dark Amber), 1/10th
teaspoon cayenne pepper in 8 oz. water. Drink 6 to 12 glasses per day. No
supplements are to be taken and no food is to be eaten. You can see this will
be a challenge! I have done the cleanse several times myself with great
results, i.e. loss of weight and passing a next of round worms from my liver.
We are hoping Brennan, our son, will handle this well. If you drink frequently
enough you really don’t get that hungry. Blood sugars will be monitored very
closely! The original recipe is in a small paperback book at some health food
stores entitled "The Master Cleanser" by Stanley Burroughs. It’s very
interesting and very helpful.

The lemon cleanse is for anyone, not just diabetics. The recommended amount of
time is ten days. One of my clients did it for 29 days, but her auto immune
disease was not diabetes. It did improve her condition greatly, however.

How many days do you do this lemon cleanse without eating? Is this only for
type 1?

Wonder how long I could do this without damaging my body. I see no protein
here and don’t want to start digesting my heart. But, I need to lose the
last 40 pounds and can’t seem to do it.

Well, I tried it and didn’t even make it one hour. So, I am now on calorie
diet. Averaging between 500 to 7700 calories and not feeling bad. We will
see how long I make it, this time.

I might suggest checking with those companies about if any of the
insulins he uses contain wood alcohol (methanol). Since that seems the
primary implicated toxin in diabetes, it might be worth it to find one
that doesn’t have that in it. As I recall, Dr. Clark mentions that it is
often used in medications of all sort, and definitely in some insulins.
Lynn Wendt wrote:
Linda, that posting was from me. I got to thinking about vaccinations
having thimerasol as a preservative (that’s mercury) and wondered what
was in insulin. So I called Eli Lilly Company directly and asked them.
My son takes NPH and Humulin. There is nothing in the Humulin, but NPH
has an ingredient called metacresol. The person on the phone could not
tell me anything about it except that it was used as a preservative. So
I called a couple of people who are chemists. One of them found
information online which explained that metacresol is a caustic chemical
made in India. It burns the skin and can cause blindness if gotten into
the eyes. Apparently it’s supposed to be harmless if injected (sarcasm
