control of diabetes
i have known about being diabetic for just over a year. I know
exerice and diet are the answer, but what diet, I have used high
protein and I have enegery but it causes other problems, you have to
take too many suppliments, I take coral calcium and other suggestive
herbs. I am dooing well but I am still on doctor subscribed
medication, which I take kicking and screaming. Please some of you
who are doing well tell me what diet you follow—I need to loose
some weight too.

I felt the same about having to take meds - I haven’t taken ANY after the
first 4 months of being diagnosed, which was last January a year ago. I eat
low carb, as that’s the ONLY way to even attempt to control sugars. I take
wonderful supplements and know that they have given me total control over
this illness. I take a form of calcium which is even more absorbable than
coral calcium, though that’s good stuff.

I totally agree. But, even eating low carb, how do you deal with your
cravings? I’ve been a carb-holic all my life, and trying to completely
change my way of eating has been a huge struggle. It’s like you must have
willpower of iron, which I unfortunately don’t have. I can’t stand meat
hardly at all, so eating high protein is very difficult. I always in the past
skipped the meat and ate the vegetables and breads and pastas.

Hi,
I love carbs too…Rice,Bread,Potatoes…BUT everytime I slipped & ate
them .I paid the price.I felt bad because they make your sugars
soar……..So in order to control your sugars .you need too eat more
vegetables & eat cheese some to replace your dislike of meat….

Once you cut out the carbs, usually takes about 2 days then the cravings
will be gone. You can also eat
Chocolate egg-white meringes
Creme Cheese mixed with splenda and cocoa
