HbgA1c formula

Cross posting so not to miss anyone.
A person on the newsgroup alt.support.diabetes has presented the
mathematical formula that connects the BG (in mg/dl units) to the HgbA1c
number; it is

BG(mg/dl) = 30 [HgbA1c - 2 ]

So the normal BG of 120 mg/dl infers a HgbA1c of 6.0

The lab reports my HMO sends to patients lists the following:
excellant control HgbA1c less than 6.1
good control 6.2 to 7.5
fair control 7.6 - 8.9
poor control greater than 9.0

Incidently, those reports call the HgbA1c numbers percents. Percent of
what I wonder, anyone know for sure?

I have used about ten different herbal remedies in an
attempt to control my BSL, including Pectin. I used
capsules for the pectin so that may be the problem why
their was no affect…..So far for myself the best is
cassia cinnamon, ie…if my BSL gets to 200 after
eating , I use the Cinnamon and usually within two to
three hours I get the BSL down to 120….

    All the best

    JP,

I assume you mean the cinnamon…

Their are many different cassia cinnamons and all are
the common variety of cinnamon. Depending on what
country their are grown in, will determine the
strength. From what I have learned,
Australian cassia cinnamon is the weakest, (This is
the one I used as I live here in Australia) Saigon
cassia cinnamon is the strongest. Someday in the
    future I’ll test them all…..

I am a type II and I take six OO capsules each time I
use them, usually three times a day, also my diet is

free from grains (wheat rye oats barley and including
corn and rice) and anything from the potato
family….if and when I cheat on my diet ie….toast
for breakfast or a beatuful italian dinner with
friends, I would have to take six capsules wait
another w or 3 hours and take another six to get my
sugar down to normal 90/120 or so….

    all the best
    Michael

    Hi Dick,

    First I love you menu….

I not not to eat carbs…every other day I’
ll have toast organic rye, gluten free sometimes I
cheat have two slices, also I eat kefir organic
potatoes twice a week, friend in olive oil with bell
pepers and mixed italian seasoning. my eggs are soft
boiled about five minutes and one a week friend in
olive oil with some fresh back that is smoked , we
    called it gypsy speck…..

Every day I have a fresh fruit smoothie, about three
glasses , and it consists of every major fruit in

season , usually always strawberries, bananas , juice
of pineapple (which I consider a great fruit for
nutrients) kiwi (another great fruit –great for
kidneys and liver_ etc….and Yes do the BS L
increases with this drink and after which I take from
six to 12 capsules of cinnamon,,,I really do feels the
benefits of the fruit far outweigh to increase of the
BSL , and , of course, that is if I can get the BSL
back down after taking the fruit drink, I make sure
that I take on average 15,000 ORAC antioxidants per
day and it mainly comes from the fruit
smoothie….other Ideas that I use are , prunes, f dry
figs, dates and sunflower seeds, probably sunflower
seeds are the best thing I trake for nutrients…

My lunches and dinners vary meat loaf, to beef stir
fry, chicken and pork , I probably do eat to much meat
    but …….

After 8pm I try not to munch, if I do its usually
walnuts, I do have a problem with diet pepsi, I’m
    addicted to it….

Put it all together, no meds just cassia cinnamon,
however I am now testing myself with guava, it looks
    promising….
