We announce an evening of dialogue and instruction about new nutritional and
supplemental therapies for diabetes. Specifically we will review data on the
question of grains and their role in diabetic nutrition,
re-visit the glycemic index, and examine if individual differences could
play an important role in observed variations. We will also look at the
question of immuno-reactivity for specific foods and how this influences
diabetes outcome along with the best testing strategies for identifying
immuno-reactive foods. We will review new data on the effects of antioxidant
supplementation on glycemic control and discuss what constitutes an optimal
nutritional and supplement program for diabetes.
We will discuss new customized vitamin products for use with diabetes. Based
upon sex, age, and results of urine lipid peroxidase, nitrates, and
sulfate/creatinine ratios, these vitamins provide a baseline nutritional
supplements to which other products are added. We will look at several
products, including Thorne’s Diabinal, Perque’s Glucoplex, and will ask what
are the best anti-oxidants for diabetic control,
also reviewing herbal supplements and neutriceuticals.
Refreshments will be provided. No fee will be charged.
This program is especially tailored for chiropractors, acupuncturists, and
other health professionals.
The general public is welcome, but the level of presentation will be for
professionals.
Physicians interested in including more natural medicine in their practices
will find this an opportunity to learn specific approaches and to develop
referral networks.
The program will end with a 15 minute meditation for the September 11th
Event. Donations for the September 11th Fund will be accepted, and products
will be available, whose proceeds benefit the Fund.
