You may be right. It may be 40 carbs. I had 30 in my head, but since I
don’t have the book, I didn’t check. On the Atkins stuff, I have all the
books and can always go and pull out the paragraph. Let me know, I am
very interested.

How much cassia cinnamon do you take in a day to lower your blood sugar?
Do you take it before meals or after or just all day?

Thanks for helping me with this info.

I think the body can live on ketones instead of carbs. I used to have
this info, but will try to research it again. When the ketones run out,
in other words you have burned all stored fat, then you may be right. I
wll let you know what I find out. I have been sick and haven’t done my
usual weekly research.

Hypoglycemia

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2003

I have just recently started taking Atenolol (a beta blocker) and
Glyburide.

The beta blocker masks the first signs of hypoglycemia. I don’t get
the rapid heartbeat or the nervous anxiety attacks. Now it seems the
only time I know my blood sugar is on the downswing, is when my
vision gets blurred, I get a headache or I start feeling nauseaus.

The thing I can’t figure out is that I don’t think I should be
getting these feelings when my blood sugar is around 80 to 82.

Do people have differant tollerance plateaus? I might not feel right
when my blood sugar is in the low 80’s and you might not feel right
when your blood sugar is in the low 70’s.

<Phyllis: you have the indication of a defficiency of
minerals chromium & vanadium which are required for
sugar regulation. Once the levels are down, it’s a true
pain to get them back. My experience has been that only
colloidal suspensions work & then only if there is TOTAL
removal of all caffeine & carbonated soft drinks [which
depletes stomach acid & prevents mineral absorption].

I am already taking these vitamins and minerals. I have any glucophage
now in about 2 weeks and my blood sugar is 123. I am so amazed that with
no change in diet (Atkins) or exercise, my blood sugar is 50 points
lower without all the diabetic meds.

Can excercise increase BSL level high ?

Saturday, July 19th, 2003

I have a question on Blood sugar lever.

I was told that i have blood sugar level 126. when i tested in Feb
2001. I started excersise. Now i am testing blood sugar myself.

I noticed that the blood sugar level increases after 90 minutes work
out. ie after 1 hr of dinner, i found that the level goes to high
above 150-170. Is that normal ? Otherwise it stays between 76-110
before meals and after meals.

Could anybody explain why this happens? I checked the BSL on non-
workout day. The level was 110 after 1 hr of dinner.

Questions on Blood Sugar

Wednesday, July 16th, 2003

Do any on you know the answers to these questions?

How can you blood sugar just hang between 160 and 200 when you eat 0
carbs? I eat only meat and eggs.

Everytime I have lost weight no matter what kind of diet I was on my
blood sugar went higher than when I didn’t lose weight. Does anyone know
what this means?

I have been on Atkins 9 weeks, lost 21 pounds, in ketosis, no meds -
because eating no carbs the meds make me so sick I can’t hold my head
up.

Anybody got any ideas. I have called Atkins and I have read everything I
could and this is a frustrating situation.

just monitor us and wait for complications.>
