Banaba

Greetings! I am new to the list, so maybe a quick introduction is in order.
We live in the Philippines and operate a herbal company (see sig. below). We
are very fortunate to live on a mountain on a farm, and have lots of wild
herbs growing here on the mountain. We have our own product line of herbal
supplements we make here in the Philippines, and we also export in bulk.

Recently we have gotten a lot of requests for the herb banaba. I know this
is a popular herb in Japan for diabetes. It is also known to be good for
weight loss, due to the way it helps the body process insulin.
Unfortunately, most of the information we have available here is from a
Japanese corporation. I am wondering why this herb has all of a sudden
become so popular in the US? Has there been some media exposure or
something?? Also, does anyone know where there is good information about
this herb either on the Net or in published form? I would like to add more
information about this herb to our website, since it is a Philippine herb.

One of the research projects this company in Japan recently reported about
is putting an extract of banaba into a mist diffusing device over night and
testing people’s blood sugar levels after sleeping with the banaba mist in
the room. He said that the results so far are very promising.

Thanks so much!

if it resonates great. If not, press delete. I have not tried it, don’t
sell it and have nothing to do with it!!
