Re: liquid tears

Wednesday, April 30th, 2003

Myra,

We live in London.
Will have to find out more about liquid tears.
I know relaxation is a step in the right direction so am urging her to take
time out and perhaps meditate or do som relaxation exercises relaxing the
various eye muscles etc.

Has anyone heard of the Bates Method. I came across it somewwhere and was
curious if anyone has ever used it.

Myra,

They don’t say anything in the hospital. They just give you the medicine as
if you’re resigned to this ailment and take the medicine and don’t ask any

Re: dry eyes

Hi,

My mother went to hspital for an eye chechk up only to find out her tear
ducts are dry.

This happened a year ago and seems a continual problem.

Hospitals don’t tell you the likely cause and how to cure yourself of this.

Does anyone know what the cause of this could be and any good remedies?

Meter News Articles

Monday, April 28th, 2003

Not to be modest or anything so out of character, but I have two new
articles published about blood glucose meters that I am rather proud of.
These articles cover the whole history of the meters from the first to the
most advanced.

The latest is "Are You ‘In Charge’ of Your Blood Glucose?" about the In
Charge meter, which tests not only blood glucose but also fructosamine. That
’s a test you take once a week that tells your overall control, similar to
the Hemoglobin A1c test, except measuring a shorter time.

The company that makes the In Charge meter, LXN Corp. in San Diego, calls it
GlucoProtein. Nobody else makes a home test for fructosamine (GlucoProtein),
although LXN made a first generation meter called the Duet, which cannot
compare with this cute little meter.

Want to feel better?

Thursday, April 24th, 2003

Hello to all:

My name is Patrick B. Fisher and I am a Nikken Independent Distributor. I am
quite sure that some of you receiving this message may also be distributors
for Nikken. However, I feel the moral obligation to let as many people as
possible know about the wonderful results my sister, my father, many of my
Nikken friends and I have experienced with Nikken’s fantastic products.

Since I am restricted from using medical terminology by the FDA, I cannot
mention the different ailments from which you all suffer. I know many people
who have experienced the discomfort (particularly joint problems, the
all-over body ache problem, monthly female problems, immune system problems,
people who need chemo or radiation therapy and others) from which many of you
currently suffer and Nikken’s products have helped them to feel better - in
some cases, 100% better or better than they have in 20 or 30 years, or even

Re: Wheatberry and Whole Grains

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2003

Yes. Wheatberry fills me up. I can’t eat rice or potatoes or pasta as a
Diabetic 2. So the whole grain is the substitute. I like it. I cook like
most whole grains, 1 cup grain to 2 cups liquid. I use fat free chicken
soup by Swanson. Sometimes I use bullion. I have a Black and Decker
Steamer–about $40. When done, I serve with the meal as the good-type
carbohydrate. I can also chop fruit into it, even your and my favorite
banana as a very nice dessert. It is said that it is very good for us–not
only the thiamin but the whole grain itself.

Check out the search engines for the Glycemic Index for more info. Also,
there are lots of very knowledgeable folks on this list and they are very
nice about answering questions.

You are most welcome, Debra.

Where on the web can I go to read more about diabetes? My husband is a type
II, I developed it while I was pregnant and now I fear I have it. I know some of
the symptoms, and I want to read more. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kim

Three months ago, my doc said the fructosamine test said I had no more
diabetes 2. Last month, due to the holiday parties, I had it again.
