Re: Stop the Blame
Hi,
In response to the comment below:
I was placed on insulin after adverse reactions to all oral medications.
Also, even though I didn’t eat any sugar whatsoever for two years and no fat
at all for one year (was finally told by dr’s office I had to have some fat
in my diet) I gained weight on the oral meds. Exercise? Hell, energy is
not something I’ve ever had.
Please don’t point blame on people with this disease. I have neuropathy in
my feet and legs as a direct result of taking insulin. Do the doctors admit
that it’s caused by insulin? Nope! No one tells you the consequences of
taking this nasty medication — not even after it’s destroyed the rest of
your body.
I’m into alternatives for managing pain, etc., including moving energy to my
feet and legs, magnets, St. John’s Wort, Vitamin B100’s and would like an
alternative to insulin. If you’ve got it, I’ll try it.
Much obliged,
Sandi Ayer
To some, type 2 folks are characterized as "careless" in the
sense that to
whatever degree it may well have been "possible" to prevent
their body from
~shutting down~, they actively rejected the efforts which
certainly could
not have hurt them… (more healthy eating habits, exercise…
so forth).
Its obviously not ~causal~ precisely but its possible to have
been
signifigantly delayed… had healthy(ier) habits been developed
in their
lives…. I’m not quite that extreme in that belief, but I think
the
argument has some merit.
