Re: Allergic reactions to honey

Hi,

My mother is type II diabetic.

She recently had what the doctors at hospital called an anaphlactic reaction
to honey.

What happened was that suddenly in the morning she was getting ready & said
she could not breathe. I noticed her hands were swollen and I got her to
calm down a little not knowing what had happened. I drove her to hospital
where nurse immediately recognised her symptoms as one of sever allergic
reaction. Immediately they gaver her adrenaline and other things and kep her
under observation for 8 hours.

She only had honey in warm water to drink in the morning and doctors said

she must have had an allergic reaction to this and it was good I brought her
to hospital so quickly as the body tightens up and breathing becomes
difficult.

I said to the doctor that she has been drinking a little honey in water for
years and this never happened before. So anyway doctors can’t therefore say
exactly what caused it.

Has anyone ever had these sorts of rections or know if honey can cause this
even after taking it for years.
