Re: Digest Number 82

Hi All,

I just joined this list yesterday and was reviewing the archives to see the
tone of the group. What I saw was sad cause arguing over who’s method is best
defeats the purpose of helping each other.
I will give you my 2 cents for the record.
There are quacks who claim many things, there are doctors who know very
little about diabetes.
Having said that the issue as I see it is to find help for ourselves any
place we can.
The talk of "the medical community does all the studies and knows what’s best
is a myth."
Is this my opinion, yes but I am in the medical community as a professional,
with extensive experience with type 2 diabetes.
There are many "NEW" drugs which have not been tested in the long haul but

need to be out there nevertheless.
Some have had serious side effects also.
We do have a lot of research going on but the success with diabetic treatment
is minimal at best.
Physicians have little or NO training in medical school regarding nutrition.
This has proven to be very detrimental to people who want to treat this
disease with a nutritional approach as well as a medical approach.
BTW I am a type 2 diabetic for 24 years on insulin. I am always open to any
information about the natural approach to treating illness.
We are a people who think doctors are God and above question. (Some of them
believe that also)
If there is anything to run from it is a doctor who won’t allow you to be
part of your own treatment plan. There is nothing wrong with trying new
things if they are not inherently dangerous.
My physician applauds this. I had to search long and hard to find her! She is
an endocrinologist in a major University hospital and head of the dept. She
will be the first to tell you that the natural approach is the best place to
start, not to end up with!
With all that said I hope this list proves to be informative.
